Heyo

heyo
well it has been a pretty darn good week. well lets see ill give you guys the summary, a little easier. monday we had a special baptismal interview and the first counselor of the mish came to our chapel to do it, so that killed like half our pday (but i was glad we had the interview), and after we played soccer for like 3 hours. fyi playing soccer that long in la oroya, bad idea haha. tuesday we had district meeting, my new dl is elder stevenson from utah, hes awesome. tuesday till thursday we had divisions with him and he stayed with me in my area. it was way fun, we had pb and j, my first in a year! so that was cool. um lets see thursday my comp came back and we were standing on the sidewalk where i picked him up and guess who was passing through la oroya..... President Ardila! it would have been awesome but we just happened to see him the only day in a while that i hadnt shaved in the morning, it was just dandy. i was trying my hardest to cover my face haha. but ya thursday thru saturday we worked like normal in our area.
Oh hahaha and we met the funniest drunk guy of my mish. supposedly this guy new us and i thought at first he was just confusing us with other missionaries, oh and he was super happy. but then he started saying thanks for the cookies we used to bring him and why we had stopped. then he said thanks for teaching him english and the he starts talking ¨"english". but not the english we know i guess, haha he just started rambling for like 2 minutes and i had no idea what he was saying, i was just laughing like crazy. but then the funny part is that he started calling me richard. he was like "oh richard remember the good old time?" hahah i was like "um of course!" then we hugged and he walked back to his friends. lol probably one of the funniest moments of my mission.
Haha so ya nothing else really happened till sunday when we baptized my first entire family in the mission. it was such a spiritual experience, its hard to explain really how i felt. i was just so happy to see them so happy.i had never seen anyone so excited. its not that my other converts werent excited but, wow this family is sooooo amazing. they came to church way more dressed up than any of the members, and they participated soooo much in the classes. you can tell by their countenance that they had been changed. that they felt the true love of christ. it was such an awesome day for us and i will never ever forget it. and the best part was that i got to baptize them all! oh and afterward that made us lunch, it was super good.
that is what i love most about my mission is watching how peoples hearts can change. we often meet people who are struggling in so many aspects of their lives. but then to see the amazing changes that take place when they embrace the gospel of jesus christ and know that they have a heavenly father who loves them and an older brother whom has sacrificed everything for their happiness. it is truly amazing to watch how the gospel transforms lives and bring so much peace and happiness to those that are willing to embrace it. i love it.
well thats insane to think that brad is a dad, but i know he will do great and i am excited for him. tell him and lexi congrats and i can't wait to see pictures
well ill try to answer your questions next week, im sorry i just spent alot of time uploading that one picture haha
well heres my letter to prezi

Celebrating 1 Year With Elder Capps

alo familia !!!

alo familia!
well it was quite a good week. started off with a great 2 hours of soccer (im getting quite good fyi). After pday in tarma I went to go send my cds BUT the serpost (post office) was closed! im pretty sure Peru doesn't want me to send the pics. but im gonna keep trying, I might go to tarma this week so there I should be able to send them.
Well that night we slept in tarma and the next day we had zone meeting. after that I did divisions in tarma until Thursday (I love tarma haha). when i got back to my area me and my comp tore it up. We found a family of three that is just amazing, there names are Ricardo, his wife Rosanna and their kid Adrian. They are so insanely prepared, they are getting baptized Sunday! Its definitely going to be an awesome day for me, it'll be my first family that ive baptized all in one day.
Im super excited. also I had my very first confirmation yesterday! it was amazing, a super spiritual experience, the spirit was so insanely strong and it was one of those moments when you knew without a doubt that you were just a tool in the Lords hands and the spirit was just speaking right through me (sorry I could think of how to describe that in English very well haha). but it was seriously one of the most spiritual experiences I have ever had. It just confirmed that I am doing the right thing and that Heavenly Father loves these people so much. So ya that topped off a great week for me.
well me and my comp are doing great in this area, seriously we are working insanely hard and we are finding SOOOOO many people its insane. The attendance in the branch has gone up like 20 in 2 weeks.
the branch president was super happy haha. but ya im definitely learning alot from my comp, he's a super good missionary and we are learning a ton from each other.
well I got a letter from Kelly this week, it was awesome to hear from him, in the package im sending there's a bunch of letters that I need you to send to people.
well here's my letter to president
Buenos Dias Presidente!

I Year Olds !

well hello there family!
sorry i didn't get to write last week, things were a little crazy with the zl counsel. haha after our planning Sunday night the assistants called us and said that we have to meet our bus in 15 minutes to go to Lima. apparently there weren't any other tickets, so we threw some stuff together and got on to where the bus leaves from. BUT the bus didn't even get there until 130 am. lol we were there waiting for like 3 1/2 hours in the freezing cold(but it wasn't all bad, me and my new comp had some good bonding time). and we didn't get to Lima until 6 am. it was super lame because i didn't sleep on the bus and we had to do divisions with the assistants that day. but ya the next day was the counsel (which was amazing) and after the counsel we played soccer in manchay with president (also amazing) . it was cool but it didn't give us any time to do email, so that's why i didn't write this last week.
But here i am! so ya lots of big news. elder choqque got transferred and my new comp is elder avalos, hes from chile, hes also only 7 days younger than me, pretty cool. Rider and Sheridan are now zone leaders!
it was so sick being able to see them and spend time with them like 2 days before the year mark.
Elder Rider, Elder Paolacci, Elder Sheridan

ALSO elder capps is now in my zone! we did divisions for our year day haha it was so awesome to spend the day with him.

Well i would like to give my wonderful grandmother my congratulations! that is so dang cool Washington dc would be super cool! haha it seems like everyone is going to south America or the northeast. i love her so much and I'm so proud of her. make sure she knows.

Well we are having alot of success in our area. me and my comp are doing something cool, i went up as to ZL A so i suggested to him that hes in charge of our area and ill be in charge of the zone, and its working out great. makes it easier for the both of us.

we are finding alot of new people and we had a baptism saturday, his name is ivan, hes amazing, hes been listening to missionaries for a long time in lima, but never got baptized. but he got here and who knows maybe we were just the right guys for him.
well today we are gonna go play soccer in that feild we rented a couple weeks ago, its gonna be awesome. oh and im gonna rock my new USA world cup jersey, that just happens to have robbie findleys name on it, the guy that went to shadow.

so ya heres my letter to prez

Buenos Dias Presidente!
well gotta go. love all so much!

New Mission President

Dylan has had the privilege of having the opportunity to serve under 2 mission presidents. His first year has been spent serving under President Juan Leyva. Dylan has learned so much during the past year. And with the Lord's guidance Presdient Leyva shaped Dylan into an amazing missionary. He has continually expressed how grateful his is for President and Hermana Leyva's example in his life and I know he will truly miss them.

One month before Dylan's one year mark President Leyva finished his 3 year calling as the Peru Lima East Mission President and President Nelson Ardila
was called to serve as the mission President for the Peru Lima East Mission and will serve for the next 3 years which will cover the rest of Dylan's mission.

Nelson Ardila Vásquez, 44, and Liliana Yulieth Duran Rojas, three children, Peru Lima East Mission; Real de Minas Ward, Bucaramanga Colombia Terrazas Stake. Brother Ardila serves as a stake president and is a former counselor in a stake presidency, stake executive secretary, high councilor, bishop and missionary in the Colombia Cali Mission. Coordinator, seminaries and institutes of religion. Born in Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia, to Carlos Ardila Hernández and Ruth Vásquez Joya.
Sister Ardila serves as a counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency and is a former seminary teacher, Relief Society teacher, Sunday School teacher, and counselor in a Young Women presidency. Born in Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia, to Apolinar Duran and Maria Yada Rojas.
a message from Dylan after his first Zone Counsel with his new mission president.

"Pres and hna Ardila (R-dee-luh) haha. they are awesome, we miss pres. leyva but the ardilas are gonna be awesome too. hna ardila is super nice, like crazy nice haha. so ya im excited to have them as our leaders. you can feel that they truly love each and every one of the missionaries as their own."

I Love This Work

wellllll
i would like to formally start out my weekly address congratulating my wonderful mother on her new position at PHOENIX CHILDRENS! im so proud of you momma. i remember the various times that you have taken me there after stupid teenager incidents, for example when i got staples in my head! haha or my various trips to get my knee checked out. youre gonna be the best nurse ever! working in the hospital will probably make nursing school so much easier in some ways.

well next on my list is congratulating my awesome little bro logan on going to the regional az state tourney for all stars. thats sucha huge acheivment bud and you are an amazing baseball player, maybe even better than me (but we will have to see about that when i get back). it seems like next year you guys are gonna make it again, and maybe youll make it even farther! love ya bud

bro coleton, dont be nervous about seminary, its awesome! for real youre gonna make so many friends there and youre gonna learn a load of stuff about the gospel (name that movie!). for real dude its awesome, and plus if i find out that you dont go everyday ill kill you. and plus you can ride with your amazing senior sista kar kar everyday huh!

i am excited at the possibilty of skyping on christmas. i will get to see malorie and the new baby. that will be awesome. how is morgan feeling ? tell trent thanks for keeping an eye on my little bro's and being a good example to them.

mom too bad you missed being in chicago with marissa and christopher. that would have been sweet if your trip over lapped when they were going to be there. from what i hear it is a sweet place to live.

how is work dad ? been on any fun campouts lately ?

that's awesome that so many missionaries are taking off from our stake.
its seriously the best decision you can make in your life.

well things aren't much different yet under pres. ardila. he's trying to keep things as they are until he sees the need to change stuff. for example, PLE is one of the only missions in the world that doesn't have cell phones, not sure if you knew that, but it looks like the zone leaders are gonna get some pretty soon. SCORE!

umm this Friday ollanta humala enters as the new president of Peru!
kinda nerve-wracking, the talk on sending us out died down so that's good. but we will just have to wait and see! the 28th of July here is like our 4th of July apparently.

well ill give you guys the low down of our week and investigators.
first off this Saturday a girl named Diana is getting baptized, she's awesome! she loves going to primary and is really excited about her baptism. haha funny story, on Tuesday she said she wasn't sure about her baptism and we asked her why. lol she said that her neighbor told her that after her baptism she wouldn't be able to listen to her music or hang out with friends, she almost cried when she told us. it was so cute. of course we cleared up her doubts and now she's as excited as ever.
also this Saturday a girl named Katy (cat-E) is probably getting baptized. we aren't sure yet because her dad is out of town and she needs his permission. haha the other day we were practicing with her about what she was gonna say to her parents. it was really funny, she's so shy so we are trying to get her out of her shell. she's like 16. so ill let you know what happens there.

and last but not least the milagro of the week. well yesterday we were on the soccer court(if that makes sense) between the 2nd and 3rd hours of church and a member called us over. she was talking to a family and said hey elders this family wants to get baptized. haha we were like yaaaa I guess we could help with that. they are awesome, future bishop and missionary in the fam. they are gonna get baptized next month. the hard part is gonna be that the parents aren't married, but they are 100% percent willing to get married. so we will se how that goes. im super excited for them.

well here be my letter to president
Buenos Dias presidente!
good morning President!

All is well here in Marcavalle. We are working hard with members and trainers. the fruits are already showing. many members have been inviting their friends, and this has been very effective.

We have been thinking about doing a night mission where we do activities with everyone. It is a fun way for everyone to have to come together, and also to encourage them to invite friends. We have many  good investigators and possibly 2 will be baptized this Saturday. We also found a family that wants to be baptized, just need marriage, but they are willing to do whatever it takes. The tarma area is working very well and all areas are finding people.

Thank you very much for every thing president
Elder Paolacci

Thanks to everyone for their constant love and support. I have the picture cds made, I just want to write a couple more letters before I send them. and theres a little problem, no mail system here in la oroya. but don't you fret I will get them there as soon as I can. I will probably send a package when I go to Lima for Zone Leader Counsel next week. so no worries it is on it's way soon.

well I love all of you guys so much! and miss you all, im coming up on a year, crazy huh. its going by so fast, but im loving it more than I thought possible. I love being able to help people realize that this is the true church. the look on their faces when they tell us that they received a divine answer is something I will cherish my whole life. I love this work and I know without a doubt that this church is true and it is the way to true happiness.

love - Elder Paolacci
