Mother's Day Call
We had a great phone call with Dylan on Sunday. What an amazing young man he is. We all really enjoyed talking to him and hearing his testimony in spanish. He loves Peru and he loves the people of Peru. Since we talked for an hour yesterday he sent home a few letters to his cousin and his best friends. Just by these letters you will feel the love that he has for everyone. A true messenger of Jesus Christ.

officially a missionary now! so cool. its crazy thinking that we both are out serving the lord now. and did you hear about grandma?! crazy huh. our family is gonna be the most blessed family in the world! haha so ya I'm doing great here. i love Peru and I'm sure you are loving south Carolina. i heard your comp is from AZ! that's way cool. you're gonna be an amazing missionary kel. just focus on trying to learn something everyday and developing your ability to tune into the spirit, because the truth is that its not us teaching, its the spirit.
and we need to be the most worthy possible to be able to help others feel that spirit because that is how they will really be converted. we don't have to be able to speak all fancy and stuff to convert people, we just need to invite the spirit. i have had so many experiences here when i can explain or speak exactly how i want in Spanish but the truth is that it doesn't matter because if we just bear our testimony and teach with charity the spirit will testify to those we teach. the truth is that the spirit makes our job easier, but we need to be worthy to have it with us. that means being obedient and always trying our hardest to learn the scriptures. like it says in 2 nephi “feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do”. Kelly the best tip i have for you is to become 100 percent familiar with the book of Mormon because that with the holy ghost is our strongest conversion tool. Kelly i love you so much and I'm so proud of you. work hard and have fun!

i always knew you be an awesome missionary. my mom send me one of your emails and you sound like a future apostle, my competetive juices got pumping again, haha you know how i am. but ya man im loving it here in peru. its really an amazing place. the people here are so humble and its amazing to be able to work with them. its pretty amazing thinking of how im teaching descendants of the lamanites in the land where alma and all those homies taught. but i would have to say im pretty jealous that you get to serve in the area of the restoration. theres got to be some amazing spirit about that place. but ya man just wanted to shoot you a quick note and let you know to keep killing it. you are being a huge example for me and i love you man Love Elder Paolacci

It has been a great week . . .

well its been a great week. Getting to talk to dad was great! but ya i dont think ill be able to write much today becaus i got stuck with a lame computer. but its ok because we get to talk sunday.
Well thats insane that marie and emily are engaged! i officially feel old!

well everything is just dandy here in huanuco!
today(p day) we had a training with president. wasnt really looking forward to giving up half my pday, BUT it was actually really cool. i learned alot. it was simply amazing.
so ya sounds like everything is going great back at home. haha i cant wait to see the dvd of coleton's play when i get back, its gonna be great. and im sure logan is just killing out there playing baseball, it doesnt really matter if you win or lose, haha we are all winners right? just have fun and do the best you can. as long as you are having fun and being happy that is all that matters.
so ya everything is going great here in huanuco. we are finding alot of really good investigators and we should be having baptisms in the coming weeks. me and my comp are getting along realy well and we teach great together. so ya heres my note to president
Hola Presidente! Ya pues justo salimos de la capacitación y fue lo máximo. En verdad aprendi un monton. Muchas gracias por eso gran oportunidad. Ahora en nuestra área todo esta yendo bien. so ya im kinda without much to talk about.....haha we are working hard and having fun. last week for pday we played board games and did some magic tricks (your son is becoming quite the magician). it was way fun. haha we also had a little wrestling tourney which was fun. but ya not sure what we will be doing today but im sure we will find something fun to do.
so ya i would LOVE a sports update! you guys started off so well, but youve been slacking lately. And mom did you send the pics already? im pretty sure im more anxious for this package than any other that youve sent. haha pics are the best here in the mission.
so ya how are kelly matt and coy doing if you could send me their letters or something that would be great. Miss those guys like crazy, but so happy we are all doing the Lords work at the same time.
just to let you guys know im so extremely happy to be out here. everyday i learn more and more and i know im becoming a better person. the person the Lord wants me to be. also everyday i miss you guys more and more, but i know without a shadow of a doubt that i need to be out here right know because the lord has put people in my path and ive been called to serve them. It is so amazing.

Happy Pday !!!
Happy Pday!
haha well things are good in huanuco. DL is a little rough at first but im getting the hang of it. Um so ya elder McGhie is in huanuco but hes in the other zone. i still get to see him every once in a while, hes a cool guy. but ya theres an elder porter here from az also, hes the Zone Leader from the other zone here. hes cool, he lives near sunrise ski resort so i might have a new best friend for when i get back haha. so ya thats way cool about elder johns huh. he went straight from senior comp to zone leader. pretty crazy. hes an amazing missionary, he will probably end up being the assistant to the president pretty soon.
so ya its been a pretty good week, its been kinda hard finding people that want to progress but we are working hard and finding alot of people that are awesome. so ya just remember that im working super hard. Keep praying for me as I also am praying for you

Happy Monday
ok ya first off thats so legit that tommy played in spring training.
Im afraid i wont make it back in time for his big league debut but ya its all good.
so ya it was a good week. we worked insanely hard (gotta set a good example for the kid haha). found alot of new investigators. it was cool. also had my first district meeting as a dl. it was quite the experience. Haha oh and ya yesterday was elections here in peru so we couldnt leave our rooms all day! so ya believe or not i still am one of the most talented nappers around. i was quite happy
so ya heres my letter to pres

Ah wow fue una buena semana. Trabajamos bien duro y mejoramos muchas de las cosas que necesitábamos mejorar. Antes este semana no teníamos investigadores que estaban progresando entonces no tocó encontrar muchos mas. Hicimos muchos contactos y sacamos muchos nuevos y ya tenemos muchos que se pueden bautizar. Pero vamos a seguir buscando aun mas duro porque no podemos estar conentos con los que tengamos. Tambien tuve mi primero reunión de distrito y fue un gran experiencia. Aprendi mucho y estoy animado para poder a mejorar mi distrito. Tenga una buena semana.

It is just easier to compeltely be spanish all the way over here. I have faith my english will be fine when I get home, so I am not going to worry to much. It is just really hard writing these letters sometimes.
so ya kellys letter sounds great. i wrote a letter but i dont have money to send it quite yet. ill send it when i send my cds of photos.

District Leader and Trainer
wellllllllllll
i would now be the new district leader! also i am now a trainer or as we say it in the mission PAPA haha. my new comps name is elder parada, haha another Columbian. hes cool, 22, and really skinny. but ya this is all definitely a new experience. and much harder. i have to do all the baptismal interviews in my district and all the reprts for my district, and some other stuff. i was definitely surprised when they told me and i still feel a little unprepared but the lord prepares us to do his work so i know ill be able to do it. but ya elder barboza went to cerro de pasco haha poor guy. i think elder sheridan is training also and ya elder rider was already training.
conference was amazing huh! i got to see three sessions and priesthood in English, but the last one i had to see in Spanish, but it was still awesome. After the last session we had a baptism of a guy named Rudy.
hes amazing and might serve a mission so I'm way excited about that.

so ya just to let you guys know i am way happy out here. the mission is the best decision i have made in my life. the things i see out here are just unbelievable. everyday my testimony grows more and more. reading the book of Mormon and testifying of it every single day is a blessing that i can't explain in words. yes the mission is hard, but that's the point. how are we gonna get better if we don't make it through trials in this life. this is our purpose, to get better, progress, and be able to return to our heavenly father someday. EVERYONE has trials in this life, that's how god shows his love for us. we are here on this earth to make it through these trials and learn. and depending on how we face these trials, we can someday be as god wants us to be. sure we can choose to let our trails put us down or perhaps stomp all over us, but do we learn from that? no, the only way to be a better person and have happiness in this life is to press forward with a steadfastness in Christ. guys, this church is true, and i could never deny that. I want ALL of my family to know this. and maybe its easier for me to know because i have the blessing to be a missionary right now. i love this work and and I love my Savior Jesus Christ. These things are so important to me and YOU are all so important to me that I just wanted to share.

i would now be the new district leader! also i am now a trainer or as we say it in the mission PAPA haha. my new comps name is elder parada, haha another Columbian. hes cool, 22, and really skinny. but ya this is all definitely a new experience. and much harder. i have to do all the baptismal interviews in my district and all the reprts for my district, and some other stuff. i was definitely surprised when they told me and i still feel a little unprepared but the lord prepares us to do his work so i know ill be able to do it. but ya elder barboza went to cerro de pasco haha poor guy. i think elder sheridan is training also and ya elder rider was already training.
conference was amazing huh! i got to see three sessions and priesthood in English, but the last one i had to see in Spanish, but it was still awesome. After the last session we had a baptism of a guy named Rudy.
hes amazing and might serve a mission so I'm way excited about that.

Hola Presidente! Ya pues muchos cambios para mí. Siendo líder de distrito y capacitando van a ser gran bendiciones y privilegios para mí. Hay muchos más trabajo que hacer ahora pero sé que lo puedo hacer.
Sé que tengo mucho más responsabilidad ahora y me voy a esforzar a hacer lo mejor que puedo. Dependeré mucho en la oración y lecturas del libro de mormón y sé que vamos a tener éxito aca en pedro puelles.

so ya just to let you guys know i am way happy out here. the mission is the best decision i have made in my life. the things i see out here are just unbelievable. everyday my testimony grows more and more. reading the book of Mormon and testifying of it every single day is a blessing that i can't explain in words. yes the mission is hard, but that's the point. how are we gonna get better if we don't make it through trials in this life. this is our purpose, to get better, progress, and be able to return to our heavenly father someday. EVERYONE has trials in this life, that's how god shows his love for us. we are here on this earth to make it through these trials and learn. and depending on how we face these trials, we can someday be as god wants us to be. sure we can choose to let our trails put us down or perhaps stomp all over us, but do we learn from that? no, the only way to be a better person and have happiness in this life is to press forward with a steadfastness in Christ. guys, this church is true, and i could never deny that. I want ALL of my family to know this. and maybe its easier for me to know because i have the blessing to be a missionary right now. i love this work and and I love my Savior Jesus Christ. These things are so important to me and YOU are all so important to me that I just wanted to share.
